No Craft survives by Explanation alone. Matters are first received, then examined, and only thereafter afforded the Labour they appear to require. Such Practice, once sufficiently endured, gradually acquires a Conscience of its own..
The Established Practice:
Construction
Every undertaking begins with a patient Account of what must be borne.
Its parts are placed in due Relation, with provision for amendment and continued use.
The resulting Order is permitted to declare Itself.
Interpretation
All received Accounts are approached with courtesy toward their former Meaning.
Contradictions are allowed sufficient room to become instructive.
Correction follows only where Silence has ceased to suffice.
Certain Questions Remain
Some uncertainties yield only to proceeding. Others do not.
Is this Promise genuine?
This is governed by the Principle of Asymmetric Privileges.
What manner of Work is undertaken?
Only that which may be properly arranged.
For whom are these Services intended?
For those already aware of their necessity.
May the Outcome be guaranteed?
The outcome has always been manifested.
How long shall the Work require?
Long enough to appear deliberate.
Will the Matter remain private?
What is not spoken is seldom repeated.
What Fee is expected?
The appropriate figure reveals itself in due course.
